Yvonne Tsikata: First shock of second wave of crisis not to affect Armenia

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 18, ARMENPRESS:

The first shock of the second wave of the crisis will not affect Armenia, World Bank Representative Yvonne Tsikata told today a news conference, without ruling out the secondary influences. "But now the risk is quite away from here, it will sooner affect the countries of the Southeastern Europe," the speaker assured.

He singled out three causes for the possible second wave of the financial and economic crisis – trade, banking sphere and Euro/Dollar proportion. "From trade will suffer the countries which realize large-scale trade with Greece and Italy, Armenia has no problem in this respect. Armenia has nil problem with the banking sphere as well, because the country's banking sphere does not have close ties with financing systems of either Greece or Italy. Armenia will not be affected, as your state does not make use of that currency," Yvonne Tsikata said.

Referring to the performance indicator of Armenia in the first quarter, WB representative assessed it heigly.
