Armenian delegation in the Slovenian Parliament reaffirms commitment to establishing peace in the region

YEREVAN, JUNE 4, ARMENPRESS. As part of the official visit to Slovenia, the delegation led by Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan on June 4 met with members of the Slovenia-Armenia Friendship Group and the Foreign Relations Committee of the Slovenian Parliament.

According to the readout issued by the Armenian Parliament, the meeting was attended by the Chair of theStanding Committee on Foreign Relationsof theNational Assembly Sargis Khandanyan, and member of the "Civil Contract" faction, member of the Armenia-Slovenia friendship group, Lena Nazaryan.

According to the source, the parties emphasized the role of active interaction between friendship groups in expanding Armenian-Slovenian relations

Addressing the security situation in the South Caucasus, the Armenian delegation reaffirmed Armenia's commitment to establishing peace in the region and noted that Armenia counts on Slovenia's support on international platforms in the regulation of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.

During the meeting a wide range of issues related to the expansion of inter-parliamentary relations, as well as the security situation in the South Caucasus and Europe were touched upon.
