France condemns Azerbaijan’s attack in Nagorno-Karabakh, calls for UNSC emergency meeting

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 19, ARMENPRESS. France has requested an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council over Nagorno-Karabakh.

In a statement, the French Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the large-scale attack by Azerbaijan against Nagorno-Karabakh.

“France condemns in the strongest terms the resumption of military actions by Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh, during which heavy military equipment is used, including against populated areas,” the French foreign ministry said.

“France is calling on Azerbaijan to immediately halt the attack and respect international law,” it added.

It also called for a UNSC meeting.

“France requests to convene an emergency session of the UN Security Council. France is closely cooperating with its European and American partners in order to give a resolute response to this unacceptable attack, which contains equal risks for the region’s security.”
