YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan says that in line with the deterioration of weather conditions the problem of clearance capacity in the Upper Lars checkpoint on the Russian-Georgian border will worsen.
The minister told reporters today that at the moment there are serious difficulties in Upper Lars.
“The difficulties are connected with the fact that due to well-known incidents Russian respective services have to check the vehicles much more thoroughly and much longer which causes queues, in other words, the clearance capacity decreases”, the minister said, adding that the Armenian side is in daily touch with both the Russian and Georgian sides.
“But it seems there are new opportunities for enhancing the clearance capacity in Lars at the expense of adding new points. At the moment we are trying to settle it”, he added.
