Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports dismisses accusations

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS. Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arayik Harutyunyan has dismissed accusations on promoting “perversion and strange values”.

“There is no such thing”, he told reporters. “Many are making this terming also by being under certain influences. The groups who have sincere concerns aren’t doing this for some political manipulations, we are regularly receiving these groups, explaining, and we are ready to do so. Yesterday I received the delegation of the Hunchakian party and we had a long discussion also around these issues. We are ready to talk to everyone who has such questions. Some of these groups don’t have such readiness, that’s their business,” Harutyunyan said.

Asked why his oppositionists are trying to link his activities with promotion of homosexuals, he said: “That’s a globally used trick, because this is a very delicate topic. In all cases when situations are unclear or are too clear, and basically there is nothing to say, naturally they bring forward this topic”.
