YEREVAN, OCTOBER 30, ARMENPRESS. The Armenian Ministry of Defense is calling on Azerbaijan to refrain from provocations and causing tension at the Armenian state border, spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannisyan said.

“On the background of the ongoing CIS Defense Ministerial session in Baku, the Azerbaiani side is overtly turning to provocations and causing tension at the Armenian state border. We call on the Azerbaijani side to refrain from provocations and we note from our side that the provocations will not remain unanswered, however after the session,” Defense Ministry spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannisyan wrote on Facebook.

The Azerbaijani military opened cross-border gunfire in the direction of civilian settlements and military positions of Armenia in the Tavush Province overnight October 29-30 and early Wednesday morning.

“Yesterday night and today early morning the adversary fired from various caliber weapons in the direction of several villages and combat positions in Tavush. The adversary went silent after a responsive fire,” he said earlier, adding that there are no injuries in the Armenian side.
