President Sargsyan highly appreciates Armenia’s cooperation with IMF and World Bank

YEREVAN, JUNE 9, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan hosted the delegation of annual meeting participants of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank subgroup countries chaired by Belgium and Netherlands on June 9, press service of the President’s Office told Armenpress.

Welcoming the guests, the President said such annual meetings are good chance to exchange views with the sector’s representatives and partners on the course of mutual partnership and development prospect, as well as on issues and challenges faced by world economy and their possible solutions.

Serzh Sargsyan highly appreciated Armenia’s cooperation with the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, attaching importance to the joint programs implemented over the past 25 years since Armenia’s membership to the two international financial organizations thanks to which Armenia managed to ensure macro-economic and financial stability by running coordinated fiscal and monetary policy, as well as carrying out reforms in various fields and increasing the effectiveness of Armenia’s economy.

The President stated that Armenia launched significant reforms aimed at long-term development and expressed confidence that the close and productive cooperation will continue with the IMF and the World Bank within the frames of those reforms.

The meeting participants talked with satisfaction about the mutual partnership with Armenia which is already more than two decades, stating that they are ready to continue the joint work to record new achievements.
