New commander appointed for deadly drowning incident base in Artsakh

STEPANAKERT, JUNE 5, ARMENPRESS. An investigation is in process regarding the drowning incident of three servicemen in Artsakh, Lt. General Levon Mnatsakanyan – commander of the Defense Army told reporters.

According to the Lt. General, the three servicemen were unsupervised during the incident.

“That’s why the commander and his two deputies were fired. New appointments have already been made. The relieved commander and his deputies will be transferred to another service. All of them are our officers, we need them all and we find it appropriate for everyone to service in their directions”, Mnatsakanyan said.
