Artsakh’s military casualty notification officers contact first of all parents in the event of loss

YEREVAN, JUNE 5, ARMENPRESS. In the event of soldiers’ getting wounded, the Artsakh military’s casualty notification officers are contacting first of all the families of the servicemen, Lt. General Levon Mnatsakanyan, Commander of the Defense Army told a press conference.

According to the Lt. General, the casualty notification process is done within minutes.

“There are cases when the parents of the soldier are abroad and it is inappropriate for them to find out about their son’s death from the news. When the Azerbaijani forces suffer losses, no one reports this. They have adopted this kind of a media policy. We are trying to notify their society that their defense ministry is concealing their losses, however no one can accuse us in this”, he said, assuring that he has never seen or heard about such thing in the Armenian military.
