Military ops are attempts to solve domestic economic problems for Azerbaijan, says Richard Giragosian

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 28, ARMENPRESS. The Azerbaijani policy in the line of contact doesn’t comply with military logic. The Azerbaijani military attacks are driven by domestic political factors and proceed with a diplomatic calendar, political scientist and director of the Regional Studies Center Richard Giragosian told a press conference in the “Media Center”.
According to him, military operations are attempts to solve domestic economic issues for Azerbaijan. “It’s not the result that’s important for it, but rather simply the attack”, Giragosian said, adding it’s only Azerbaijan who is the main threat to regional peace.
Giragosian said it is unfortunate that no one and nothing stops Azerbaijan in initiating a new attack.
“This inaction and absence of pressure against Azerbaijan escalates the situation even more. There is only one country that can quickly respond in case of another attack of Azerbaijan, and it’s Russia”, he said.
