40 hiking routes designed in Armenia for development of adventure tourism

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 13, ARMENPRESS. 40 hiking routes have been designed in Armenia for the development of adventure tourism in the country, executive director of the Development Foundation of Armenia Karen Mkrtchyan mentioned during the consultation convened by President Serzh Sargsyan in Jermuk on December 12, where development of tourism was discussed.

Karen Mkrtchyan mentioned several activities which have been implemented for boosting tourism. “One of the important results of this year is increase of flights of Arabic airlines to Armenia, due to marketing events. In case of visa facilitation, we expect up to daily flights. Within the framework of cooperation with Air France, the Air France Magazine – which has a global of 1.7 million readers – published a wide (18 page) article about the 10 advantages of Armenia, guiding its customers to Armenia. The www.armenia.travel website has also been initiated, which enables foreign tourists to find Armenia’s tourism results in one platform”, he said.

President Serzh Sargsyan departed on December 12 to Vayots Dzor province on a working visit. Tourism development potential, projects, obstacles of development and solutions have been discussed during a consultation.
