Rescue Service chief receives representatives of Austrian and Armenian Red Cross societies

Director of the Rescue Service and Deputy Interior Minister Aram Ghazaryan received representatives of the Austrian Red Cross and the Armenian Red Cross Society on June 24.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the meeting focused on work carried out under the “Institutionalisation of First Response Volunteer Service in the Republic of Armenia” programme, known as Volfire, as well as prospects for further cooperation.
Ghazaryan highly praised the joint activities implemented under the programme, emphasizing the importance of the 11 volunteer fire and rescue stations established in different regions of Armenia. He noted that they play a significant role in strengthening community resilience during emergencies.
In this context, he said the construction of two more volunteer fire and rescue stations is in its final stage.
