Armenian new government’s first task is to raise governance efficiency - President Sargsyan

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 17, ARMENPRESS. Armenia’s new Government’s first task is to raise the governance efficiency, President Serzh Sargsyan told “Rossiya Segodnya” for an interview to “Sputnik Armenia”, in response to a question what are his expectations from the new Government.

“I have raised the issue during the government’s session. The first task is to increase the governance efficiency. Then to carry out analysis on the situation of our economy in order to reveal the obstacles and problems, and by overcoming them to accelerate Armenia’s GDP growth rates. Over the past five years our economy has grown by 20%. The average annual growth is 4%”, the President said.

He said they and the citizens of Armenia are not satisfied with those figures.

“They demand more, we also want more. That’s why I hope and think that we are on that path, and the new government will properly fulfill its task. I am almost convinced on that. Here I can make predictions since I deal with people whose behavior can be predicted. I think that in reality our stable growth will be accelerated. Karen Karapetyan and his team are our common team. In fact, his government is our driving force”, the President said.
