Armenian-Russian inter-parliamentary committee members see NK conflict settlement through peaceful means

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 10, ARMENPRESS. The members of the inter-parliamentary committee of cooperation between Armenia’s Parliament and Russia’s Federal Assembly see the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement only through peaceful means, Co-Chair of the Committee, Deputy Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Hermine Naghdalyan said after the Committee’s 28th Yerevan session.

“Our previous session agenda’s some part included also this issue. We have informed our public about the discussion, our partners’ opinions, presented the protocol that has been signed based on the session results. During that session our partners, our Russian parliamentary colleagues once again emphasized that they see the settlement of the fair struggle of the NKR people only through peaceful means. They consider absolutely unacceptable and inadmissible the military solution, the use of force”, Naghdalyan said.

She said there was also a reference to the April war in that protocol. It has been written there that an unprecedented aggression and ceasefire violation took place by Azerbaijan. “This protocol clearly shows the stance of our Russian partners”, she said.

Nikolai Ryzhkov – Russian co-chair of the inter-parliamentary committee of cooperation between the Armenian Parliament and Russia’s Federal Assembly, said they want the Nagorno Karabakh conflict to be settled as soon as possible. He said their stance on the NK conflict settlement is clear and hasn’t changed.
