Sportscaster Karen Giloyan keeps promise, shaves head following wrestler Alexanyan’s Olympic victory

YEREVAN, AUGUST 17, ARMENPRESS. Sports commentator Karen Giloyan has shaved his head after Arthur Alexanyan won gold at Rio Olympics.

The First Channel of Armenia posted on Facebook: “Back in 2008 Beijing Olympics sports commentator Karen Giloyan promised to shave his head, if Armenia gets an Olympic Champion. And today our new Olympic Champion Arthur Alexanyan realized this promise with his own hands”.

Team ARMENIA has won the first gold medal in Rio 2016.

Armenia’s Greco Roman wrestler Arthur Alexanyan defeated Cuba’s Yasmany Lugo at the Greco-Roman 98kg final.

The last time Armenia won gold at Olympic Games was 20 years ago, when Armen Nazaryan became Olympic champion in wrestling in Atlanta, 1996.
