Armenia to host 2025 IIHF World Championship Division IV int’l ice hockey tournament

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 27, ARMENPRESS. Armenia will host the 2025 IIHF World Championship Division IV hockey tournament, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Karen Giloyan told Armenpress.

“Hosting the world championship in Armenia isn’t one day’s work, significant work has been done. Armenia has a hockey league, a youth sports school and a national team,” Giloyan said, adding that the Armenian team will face “not an easy competition.”

Giloyan said hockey has good prospect of development in Armenia because the government plans to build more ice hockey rinks.

In addition to the Armenian team, the teams from Kuwait, Indonesia, Malaysia, Iran and Uzbekistan will compete in the 2025 IIHF World Championship Division IV. 

The tournament will take place April 13-19.
