PM Pashinyan hosts Armenian athletes from Paris Olympic Games

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with the athletes of the Armenian national team who participated in the Paris Olympic Games, along with their coaches and the heads of federations.
According to the Prime Minister's office, Pashinyan thanked them for representing the Republic of Armenia at the Paris Olympics with honor. He also noted that the Government had made every effort to create comfortable conditions for the team’s participation in the Games.
"Of course, we hoped to win Olympic gold, but sport is sport, and not all wishes come true. We need to develop a proper attitude towards this situation and analyze the work done in the previous period," the Prime Minister said. He added that analytical work will be carried out in the near future to make the next steps more concrete.
PM Pashinyan emphasized that the Government's policy remains unchanged. He noted that one of the fundamental problems facing Armenian sports is the lack or poor quality of sports infrastructure. "I am pleased to announce that large-scale sports facilities are currently being developed in the Republic, including in collaboration with renowned athletes. Our commitment to establishing a sports school named after the Olympic champion remains intact," said Nikol Pashinyan.
According to the source, the Prime Minister announced that, in the near future, sports infrastructure will be developed in various regions through private-state cooperation. Pashinyan stated that the Government plans to build sports centers in the regions and then transfer management to professional companies. He emphasized that sports should be treated as a sector of the economy.
The Prime Minister outlined the key economic components: with investment and proper management, there will be results; without investment and proper management, there will be no results.
At the same time, the Prime Minister highlighted the effective work of the Government and sports federations.
"In conclusion, I want to thank all of you once again for your dedication, your speeches, and your efforts. I believe you understand and appreciate how excited we all were while waiting for the news," said Pashinyan.
