MFA official says Iveta Mukuchyan’s critics fear her victory

YEREVAN, MAY 11, ARMENPRESS. Head of the Press Service Department of MFA of Armenia Tigran Mkrtchyan posted a comment in his Twitter micro-blog where he says all those who want to remove “Eurovision-2016”Armenian participant Iveta Mukuchyan fromthe contestfor raising the NKR flag, they just fear her victory or they are the supporters of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev”.

Iveta Mukuchyan performed LoveWave song in the Eurovison-2016 semi-final stage under the 7th number on May 11. Iveta Mukuchyan, representing Armenia, was among the finalists. The following countries will compete in the final: Armenia, Russia, The Netherlands, Hungary, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Austria, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Malta.

Before the semi-final results, Iveta Mukuchyan raised the NKR flag in the “green room” which caused discontent in Azerbaijan. Official Baku viewed this as a provocation.
