"Khachaturian and Jazz" project must be presented not only in Armenia, but also abroad: Sergey Smbatyan

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS.Artistic DirectorandPrincipal Conductor of State Youth OrchestraofArmenia(SYOA) Sergey Smbatyan wishes "Khachaturian and Jazz" exceptional concert project to sound not only in Armenia but also abroad. The concert project will first be presented on December 5 during the closing ceremony of the3rdAram Khachaturian International Festival.

“Each concert, passed in the frames of Aram Khachaturian Festival, is very significant for us. The concert of December 5 is out of standards. I give big importance to Khachaturian and jazz format and I consider that the mentioned project must be presented not only in Armenia,” Sergey Smbatyan mentioned in the interview with “Armenpress”.

During the closing ceremony of the festival the youth orchestra, along with Armenian State Jazz Orchestra, will introduce an innovative project and Aram Khachaturian’s creations will feature by jazz performance.

It is not the first time that youth orchestra performs with special approaches: In the frames of previous year’s Khachaturian Festival it had a concert with DJ Switch.
