Iranian ambassador lauds ‘strategic’ nature of ties with Armenia

Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani said that the recent visit of his country’s defense minister to Yerevan shows that the relationship between the two countries has gained a 'strategic nature'.

Speaking to reporters, the ambassador described Iranian Defense Minister, Brigadier-General Aziz Nasirzadeh’s visit to Armenia as “highly positive and productive.”

“He had highly productive discussions with his counterpart, the prime minister, the secretary of the security council and the minister of high-tech industry. And this visit shows that our relations have gained a strategic nature and are experiencing development in all sectors,” the Iranian ambassador said, expressing hope that the bilateral ties would continue to grow.
