Exhibition dedicated to 100th anniversary of Armenian Genocide held in Oxford University

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 24, ARMENPRESS. Exceptional exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide headlined “Masterpieces from an Enduring Culture” opened at the Bodleian Librariesof Oxford University. As “Armenpress” was informed from Department of Press, Information and Public Relations of Armenia MFA, the exhibition was initiated and supported by British Armenian benefactor Raffi Manukyan, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Great Britain Armen Sargsyan and Gulbenkian Foundation.

Ambassador of Armenia Armen Sargsyan, Bodley’s Chief Librarian RichardOvenden and Director of Armenian Studiesat theUniversityOf Oxford Theo Van Lintgave opening speeches. Paying tribute to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide, the aim of the organizers of the exhibition is to display the centuries-old cultural achievements of the Armenian nation: from rich religious and literary pieces to the heritage left by world-spread Armenian communities.

The exhibition will last until 2016 February. Parallel to the exhibition lectures and discussions will be delivered and concerts will be given.
