Armenia to comply with EAEU joint technical requirements from 2016

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 6, ARMENPRESS. During the October 2 consultative workshop on "New requirements of product safety and labeling in the Republic of Armenia" Eurasian Economic Commission Board Member (Minister) Karine Minasyan together with professionals of the Eurasian Economic Union introduced the Armenian business community to the expected changes in the technical requirements that are to enter into force after January 2, 2016. “Armenpress” reports that the official website of EAEU informs about this.

The workshop was organized by Eurasian Economic Commission, Ministryfor InternationalEconomic Integration and Reform and Ministry of Economy.

Karine Minasyan focused on the fact that the date of exceptions for most of Armenian products expires on January 2, 2016, according to the agreement of Armenia’s membership to the EAEU. “This means that technical requirements for EAEU zone products will also regulate circulation of products in the territory of the Republic of Armenia”, she said, adding that despite of it Armenian producers still can produce for two more years in accordance with the Armenian legislation which needs some preparatory work.
