Ten young people swam across 10 km-long part of Lake Sevan without rest

YEREVAN, AUGUST 17, ARMENPRESS. Extreme sports develop in Armenia and new once are being created. Extreme swimming club was established on August 15 on the occasion of which three young people swam across 10 km-long part of the Lake Sevan within three hours.

“Armenpress” reports that everybody can practice swimming irrespective of age and gender.”Our aim is to bring up a strong and healthy generation and prepare them to overcome difficulties. The ideology of the club also includes preservation of the eco-system of Sevan”, mentioned the founder of the club, Ashot Petrosyan, who established a world record in 2008 by swimming across more than 55 km-long Sevan within 11 hours.

The young people who overcame the 10 km long section emphasized that the internal flows harden swimming in Sevan. According to Ashot Petrosyan the event will be organized annually and swimmers from abroad will be included as well.
