European Weightlifting Championships: Anna Amroyan wins silver

The Armenian women’s weightlifting team continues its performances at the ongoing European Championship in Chișinău, Moldova.

Armenia was represented in the 76 kg weight category by Anna Amroyan and Milena Khachatryan. In the snatch, Anna Amroyan successfully lifted 95 kg and 100 kg. In the clean and jerk, she managed 126 kg and 131 kg. Her lift of 131 kg earned her a bronze medal in the clean and jerk. With a total of 231 kg, Amroyan secured the silver medal in the overall competition.

Milena Khachatryan had one successful lift in the snatch at 95 kg. In the clean and jerk, she lifted 121 kg, 128 kg, and 131 kg. Her result in this discipline earned her a silver medal. With a total of 226 kg, Khachatryan finished sixth overall.

Earlier in the competition, Armenian women’s team member Alexandra Grigoryan also claimed a silver medal.

In the men’s events, Gor Sahakyan and Rafik Harutyunyan each won silver medals, while Garnik Cholakyan took home a bronze.
