YEREVAN, JULY 24, ARMENPRESS. TheMinistry of Transportation of Iran has held numerous negotiations on Iran-Armenia railway construction but till now there have been no serious investors. Ambassadorof theIslamic RepublicofIran to ArmeniaMohammad Reisi informed the above-mentioned during his meeting with the journalists on July 24.
“Iran views Armenia as a good regional transit corridor between the Black Sea and the Persian Gulf. 3 billion 200 million dollars are required for its construction. This in its turn requires a serious investor who is not found yet.” Armepress reports, Mohammad Reisi stated.
The ambassador ofIran to Armenia noted that the relations between Iran and Armenia will develop more, now that the sanctions on Iran are lifted.
Mohammad Reisi noted:
“The main priority of Iran foreign policy is the development of relations with its neighbors. During the forthcoming month theVice President of Iran will visit Armenia in response to the visit of the Armenia PM - Hovik Abrahamyan. Negotiations on Armenia-Iran energetic projects, as well as on already signed projects (North-South Program, Meghri HPP) between Armenia and Iran will be held during the visit."
