European Games showed who causes tension on border

YEREVAN, JULY 23, ARMENPRESS. The spokesman of the Republican Party of Armenia, Eduard Sharmazanov, advises the Minsk Group and the international community to work with the Azerbaijani authorities who get involved in armament race thus destabilizing the situation on the line of contact of the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing armies.

After the Supreme Body meeting of the Republican Party of Armenia, Eduard Sharmazanov told the journalists that the issue of tension on the border was discussed and Azerbaijani actions to destabilize the situation were condemned during the meeting.

“Our political party considers condemnable each attempt to destabilize the situation. Azerbaijan destabilizes the situation by getting involved in armament race. I have noted on one occasion and now I’m repeating that judging Azerbaijan and Armenia, and Azerbaijan and the Nagorno-Karabakh equally is not only unacceptable but also condemnable. History shows that while the big players of the world are silent, humanity gives rise to new problems. This “tolerance” gave birth to Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.”, Armenpres reports, Eduard Sharmazanov stated.

In reference to the possibility of the meeting between the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Sharmazanov reconfirmed that the authorities of Armenia had been repeatedly talking about the exceptionally peaceful and negotiated settlement of the conflict. Sharmazanov noted that the European Games showed who causes tension on the border.

In response to the announcement of the Turkish defense minister “that they can destroy any military facility from the Nakhchivan region”, Sharmazanov replied:

“As a politician I am convinced that the history of conflicts of all these years has proved that these announcements will come and pass as their ministers, but the Armed Forces of Armenia will become more powerful. Barking dog never bites.”
