IS loses 70 percent of troops in Ramadi

YEREVAN, JULY 17, ARMENPRESS. The fundamental-terrorist organization “Islamic State” has lost 70 percent of its troops in the capital of Anbar Province, Ramadi. As “Armenpress” reports, citing Arabic media, Iraqi police representative Raed ShakerJawdat announced this.

“IS lost its troops as a result of shelling and air attacks”, he mentioned, adding that the police has occupied a number of strategic positions in the eastern part of the city. It is also mentioned in the announcement of Jawdat that 18 snipers, including 6 women, of the IS have been killed.

Before that information came that during one day 130 terrorists had been killed in the framework of military operations in the Anbar Province of Iraq.

Earlier, on July 13, the Command of Iraqi Army had declared about the start of liberation operations of Anbar Province.

The IS controls 80 percent of the province.
