Armenia hopeful that South Korea will take part in formation of platform “Parliamentarians against Genocide”

YEREVAN, JULY 17, ARMENPRESS. Samvel Farmanyan – head of the Armenian delegation of the Armenia-South Korea interparliamentary friendship group – expressed a hope that South Korea will take part in the formation and further activities of international platform “Parliamentarians against Genocide.”

After a meeting with the Korean delegation in the National Assembly of Armenia, Farmanyan thanked the South Korean MP-s for visiting the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex. After the meeting Farmanyan held a press-conference.

Farmanyan said in the press-conference, “As you know Armenia wants to found an international platform called “Parliamentarians against the genocide” which will exert efforts to consolidate the international community’s efforts in order to exclude the repetition of such tragedies in the future. We are hopeful that South Korea will take part in the formation and further activities of that platform,” Farmanyan stressed in his speech. Farmanyan added that the head of the Korean delegation is well aware of the Armenian Genocide and has even authored a work titled “Contemporary Tragedies” the first chapter of which is dedicated to the Armenian Genocide.
