Government takes actions against falsification of alcoholic drinks

YEREVAN, JULY 7, ARMENPRESS. The Government of Armenia takes actions to effectively prevent the possible acts of falsification of Armenian brandies, wines with geographical indications and grape vodkas. Particularly, the bill on making amendments and supplements in the law of the Republic of Armenia on “Alcoholic drinks with grape staff” has been submitted to the ratification of the Government. As reports “Armenpress”, it is included in the agenda of the Government sessions of July 8.

“It is expected that the amendments and supplements will give an opportunity to prevent the falsifications of the Armenian brandies, wines with geographical indications and grape vodkas more effectively without any further investments by the existing entrepreneurs in the sphere. Besides, the change of the date of some provisions of the law coming into force will give an opportunity to evade their negative effects on the economy and on small and medium-sized enterprises”, it is mentioned in the draft proposition.

The draft has been developed by the staff of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia and has been amended based on the suggestions of the Unions of Armenian Brandy Makers and Wine Makers.
