YEREVAN, JUNE 15, ARMENPRESS. Armenpress news agency continues to introduce the project “New Book.” It provides information about the fiction books published by Armenian publishing houses. Lovers of literature have a chance to gain information about the tendencies in the classical and contemporary literature. This week Armenpress has singled out two newly published books:
Contemporary Literature
Vahram Martirosyan, “Love in Moscow”
Surprising though it may sound, there are no romance novels in the Armenian prose or they are so rare that it is hard to remember one at once. Vahram Martirosyan’s new novel is a love story. The heroes of the book fall in love and are happy together as though they were in a shell of weightlessness until the reality cracks it and creeps into. The editor is Arqmenik Nikoghosyan. The book was published by “Antares”
Classical literature
Harper Lee, “To Kill a Mockingbird”
The actions of the novel take place in a small American city around the story of a humble family. Following the events of the novel through the eyes of a nine-year-old girl, you start thinking about such important issues as tolerance, jurisdiction, kindness and conscience. And finally, you come to agree with the child’s analysis at which she arrives as a result of experience of 3 years and you - as a result of the mental experience obtained from reading: “We are going to grow up further but there is little we can learn, maybe only the algebra.” The book was published by “Zangak.”
