Experts reaffirm likelihood of Armenia’s inclusion in list of the world’s 20 most innovative countries in 2018

YEREVAN, 25 MAY, ARMENPRESS. Members of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) participated in the 15thannual Congress of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises. As the UITE reports to “Armenpress”, among those attending the event were Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Emil Tarasyan, the leaders of UITE member enterprises, ITT representatives and other guests. Deputy Minister of Economy Emil Tarasyan, President of UITE Hovhannes Avoyan, Executive Director Karen Vardanyan and Deputy Director Hay Chobanyan gave their welcome speeches at the event.

President of the UITE Hovhannes Avoyanmentioned:“Seventy enterprises are already members of the UITE, and it’s safe to say that the largest IT companies have joined our organization.”Hovhannes Avoyan also recapped the events organized by the UITE last year and set aside the major technology event in Armenia, that is, DigiTech Expo, which brought together representatives of 120 companies and more than 30,000 visitors.

UITE Deputy Director Hay Chobanyan noted that the goal of the UITE is to raise the number of IT companies to 1,300 in 2018, that is, increase the number by 900. One of the major goals of the UITE is to have Armenia be included in the list of the world’s 20 most innovative countries in 2018.
