Armenian President and St. Petersburg governor see great potential for partnership development

YEREVAN, 30 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan received today the delegation led by Governor of Saint Petersburg Georgi Poltavchenko.

As the Public Relations and Mass Media Department of the Structure to the Office of the President of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, during the meeting, the interlocutors emphasized with satisfaction that the decentralized cooperation between the provinces of Armenia and the subjects of the Russian Federation is an important part of the development of the Armenian-Russian strategic partnership. In that context, the President of the Republic welcomed the Saint Petersburg Governor’s visit to Yerevan which, according to the President, serves as a good opportunity to discuss the issues on expanding and deepening the partnership with Yerevan in different areas.

Governor Georgi Poltavchenko expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic of Armenia for the reception and to his counterpart, the mayor of Yerevan for the invitation and the cordial reception. He talked with satisfaction about the close cooperation established between Yerevan and Saint Petersburg, which was reinforced with a five-year cooperation plan signed today between Yerevan Municipality and the government of Saint Petersburg. The plan envisages cooperation in economy, science, technology and the humanitarian sphere.The President of Armenia and the governor of Saint Petersburg shared the view that there is great potential for the development of partnership in different spheres.
