YEREVAN, 15 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. Summing up the first year of Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan’s term in office, economist Tatul Manaseryan sees a positive trend in Armenia’s economy.“I positively assess the reforms that the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia has undertaken, but the subtleties that emerged during implementation of those reforms caused some discontent. On the one hand, the government wanted to ease the burden of businessmen, but on the other hand, it faced the issue of circulation of documents,”said economist Tatul Manaseryan during an April 15 press conference, adding that reducing the interest rate for villagers’ loans from 10 percent to 8 percent was also a positive step.
Manaseryan mentioned that the impact of political and economic processes on the government’s actions must be taken into consideration in order to assess the activities of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia. He also stressed the fact that there have been serious flaws in almost all spheres in Armenia over the past 25 years and that every government succeeding the previous government has taken on some burden.
