Armen Rustamyan urges Levon Ter-Petrosyan to read the Pan-Armenian Declaration again

YEREVAN, 18 FEBRUARY, ARMENPRESS. First President of the Republic of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan shouldn’t have criticized the Pan-Armenian Declaration on the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide before addressing President Serzh Sargsyan with an open letter to initiate discussions on the Pan-Armenian Declaration. This is whathead of the ARF-D faction of the National Assembly Armen Rustamyansaid during a press conference today.“If Levon Ter-Petrosyan had to address the President with such a letter, he shouldn’t have criticized the Declaration before doing that,”he mentioned, as “Armenpress” reports.

Touching upon Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s criticism of the Pan-Armenian Declaration, Rustamyan recalled that Ter-Petrosyan didn’t understand the formulation in the Declaration about historical justice. Rustamyan also touched upon the First President’s observation that national unity shouldn’t be discussed in the Declaration and reminded about the fact that the wishes and dreams of the nation are mentioned in the Declaration of Independence. Rustamyan also emphasized the fact that the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide serves as an opportunity to understand what the right track to continue the struggle for the Armenian Cause is. He also urged the First President of the Republic of Armenian to sit down and read the Pan-Armenian Declaration on the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide carefully again, adding that the ARF-D also participated in drafting the Pan-Armenian Declaration and that Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s criticism was also addressed to the ARF-D.
