President Khachaturyan, Russia's top senator discuss bilateral ties

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received a delegation led by Valentina Matviyenko, Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, who is on an official visit to Armenia, the Presidential Office has said in a readout.

President Khachaturyan welcomed Matviyenko and the members of the delegation, emphasizing the continued development and deepening of Armenia-Russia relations, which are based on historical ties, mutual respect, and friendship.

Russia’s top senator expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed the Russian Federation’s commitment to maintaining constructive cooperation with Armenia in all areas.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on various issues on the bilateral agenda, highlighting the importance of inter-parliamentary collaboration, economic partnership, and the development of cultural ties.

 In this context, they also discussed the upcoming "Days of Armenian Culture" event to be held in Russia this fall, stressing the role of such initiatives in fostering mutual understanding and cultural dialogue between the two peoples.
