President calls on calling things by their names in case of Azerbaijan’s belligerent actions

YEREVAN, 9 FEBRUARY, ARMENPRESS. President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan received today EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Herbert Salber.

As the Department of Public Relations and Mass Media of the Structure to the Office of the President of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, Serzh Sargsyan greeted the guest and emphasized that Armenia attaches importance to the ongoing maintenance of the European Union’s balanced position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement and, of course, the European Union’s commitment to create a favorable environment for the comprehensive settlement of the conflict.

During the meeting, the interlocutors touched upon the provocations that have recently become frequent on the Line of Contact with Artsakh and on the border with Armenia and the escalation of tension. According to the head of state, Azerbaijan’s general and impersonal statements contribute to a certain extent to the country’s Azerbaijan’s belligerent and destructive actions, but justice requires calling things by their names so that such situations are not repeated. Herbert Salber reaffirmed support to the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs’ efforts for a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and emphasized that the EU would take advantage of every opportunity to contribute to peace by sending a corresponding message to be restraint and to respect the ceasefire.
