PM says amendments to the Law “On Turnover Tax” will contribute to growth of SMEs

YEREVAN, 4 FEBRUARY, ARMENPRESS.Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyanassures that the amendments to be made to the Law “On Turnover Tax” will contribute to the growth of small and medium enterprises. During a press conference at the National Assembly, Armenia’s Prime Minister stressed the fact that a discussion with the President of the Republic of Armenia led to the decision on postponing the disputed provision in the law requiring compulsory documentation until July 1, 2015.“In that period, we’ll discuss the issue with all interested organizations, small and medium enterprises, non-governmental organizations, as well as political forces. We’ll discuss and take a decision that will contribute to the growth of small and medium enterprises in our country,”Armenia’s Prime Minister assured.
During its February 4 session, the National Assembly passed the draft law on making amendments and supplements to the Law “On Turnover Tax”, which the Government of the Republic of Armenia had submitted to the parliament for a special discussion. The draft law proposes to delay the requirement for compulsory documentation of turnover tax until July 1, 2015. After a discussion with Armenia’s Prime Minister, the non-governmental forces of the National Assembly reached an agreement, according to which they will submit to the parliament a new draft on making amendments to the Law “On Turnover Tax” for discussion in two weeks.
