Russia’s Investigative Committee Chair to arrive in Armenia on Gyumri murder

YEREVAN, JANUARY 19, ARMENPRESS: The Chair of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia Aghvan Hovsepyan had a phone talk with his Russian counterpart Alexander Bastrykin on January 19. The press service of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia informed Armenpress that the sides discussed issues related to the investigation of the case connected with the murder of six members of one family in Gyumri on January 12, of which a serviceman of the Russian military base 102 in Gyumri Valery Permyakov is accused.

Taking into account, significance of the case, Hovsepyan invited Bastrykin to Armenia. The invitation was accepted and according to the reached agreement, the Chair of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin will arrive today in Armenia.

The serviceman of the Russian military base 102 Valery Permyakov, suspected in the assassination of the family of 6 in Armenia’s Gyumri, has given first testimonies and confessed his crime. The Russian frontier troops arrested the suspect of the assassination in Armenia’s Gyumri, who attempted to cross the Armenian-Turkish border. The suspect was arrested in the vicinity of Bayandur village.
