GYUMRI, 15 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS. Leader of the Shirak Diocese, Bishop Mikayel Ajaphyan addressed the people gathered in front of the regional prosecutor’s office of Shirak Province. As “Armenpress” reports, His Holiness touched upon the incident that took place in front of the Consulate of the Russian Federation and mentioned the following with indignation: “We’re not each other’s enemies. The incident left 14 injured, of which 1 is heavily injured, and 13 are arrested. Is this your demand? The prosecutor has assured us that he is going to do everything he can to meet our demands. Ninety percent of you agreed. Ten of you messed everything up, and the 90 percent went after those ten. You asked me to speak, and I spoke…I told you I had received assurances from the Prosecutor General that he was going to do everything he could on the legal ground. You weren’t satisfied. We saw what happened…Tell those who don’t understand to keep silent. That’s enough for today.”
His Holiness also said he was going to petition for the release of the detainees, but urged everyone to be dispersed.
