GYUMRI, 15 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS. The participants of the rally moved from the building of the prosecutor’s office of Shirak Province and headed towards the building of the Russian Consulate in Gyumri. As “Armenpress” reports, there was tension between the participants and the police forces since the demonstrators wanted to approach the building. Some demonstrators started throwing stones at the police, and that intensified the situation.
Earlier, the participants of the rally had demanded that the criminal having killed the Avetisyans be videotaped so that the citizens of Gyumri are rest assured that he’s in Gyumri. Deputy of Heritage Party’s faction Zaruhi Postanjyan and Deputy of the Prosperous Armenia Party’s faction Martun Grigoryan urged everyone to calm down and assured them that Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Gevorg Kostanyan has reached an agreement and is now heading towards the military base to be rest assured that the criminal is in Gyumri.
