Kostanyan to address Russia with demand to hand criminal over to Armenian law-enforcement authorities

GYUMRI, 15 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS.Leader of the Shirak Diocese, Bishop Mikayel Ajapahyanaddressed the participants of the rally taking place in front of the building of the prosecutor’s office of Shirak Province. As “Armenpress” reports, His Holiness particularly mentioned the following:“We want the criminal to be tried in Armenia. This is not the place where we have to solve the issue. Our demand is from the Russian Federation. We will demand Russia to hand the criminal over to Armenia’s law-enforcement authorities.”His Holiness urged the gathered to present their demand in a civilized manner, after which he entered the prosecutor’s building to talk withArmenia’s Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan. After the conversation, His Holiness assured the gathered that the Prosecutor General would do everything possible to make sure the people’s demands are met.

“Will I address the Prosecutor General and law-enforcement authorities of the Russian Federation to have the case instigated in Russia and the given person at Armenia’s disposal? I am giving you my word that I will address the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation with that demand,”Kostanyan said.
