Seyran Ohanyan: “Each person has to be a soldier in his place”

GYUMRI, 13 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS. The army has to stand out with human-centered principles of courage, according to which, in addition to armament, man comes first, with excellent command of the military. This is what Armenia’s Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan declared during a closed consultation and meeting with representatives of force structures, the commanders of subdivisions of military units of garrisons, as well as representatives of regional and municipal authorities in Gyumri on January 13.“We can defend our country together. Each person has to be a soldier in his place, be it a citizen as a military service or the leader of a civic organization. Each person must be a commander ready to lead military and civic organizations and ensure our country’s security and advancement,”the minister added.

During the consultation held at Atchemyan State Dramatic Theater of Gyumri, Seyran Ohanyan also touched upon the activities carried out last year and the successes. According to Ohanyan, consistent efforts have helped ensure not only the inviolability of our borders, “the security of the Armenian people”, but have also helped lay strong foundations for the pan-national struggle against defective morals. However, as the minister underscored, even though the results are satisfying, there is a need to work harder, and the key objective in 2015 will be to ensure the Armenian people’s security and carry out defense smartly.
