MatthewKaranianisa second generation Armenian American who practices law in Pasadena, California.

He has lived and worked in Armenia for several years as Associate Dean of the law program at the American University of Armenia, and as the Director of theUniversity’s Legal Research Center.Karanian and his studentsfounded the Armenian Law Reviewin 2003.

Karanianhas also served as a member of the editorial board of the Armenian International Magazineand his writings about Armenia have beenpublished in numerous periodicals in the US and Canada.

Since 1995, hisresearch has taken him on journeysthroughout the lands of Armenia,both Eastern and Western,from Artsakh to Javakhk, and from Ani toCilicia.
