Armenian Genocide Museum to be open in Montevideo

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 8, ARMENPRESS:For more than 30 years Arpi Hojajanian has been carrying out colonial and Armenian preservation activities in the Armenian community of Uruguay. She is the representative of the ARFD Vramian Committee of Uruguay and within the last period of time her activities have been centralized on the issues of the Armenian Cause and the recognition and covering of the Armenian Genocide. Arpi Hojajanian presented Armenpress the activities of the Armenian community of Uruguay and the works, to be implemented ahead of the centennial of the Armenian Genocide.

- What is the attitude of the society of Uruguay towards the centennial of the Armenian Genocide? Is the issue discussed also in the political and expert circles of the country?

- The society of Uruguay is quite aware of the Armenian Genocide and the centennial is considered to be a year of assisting the Armenians. Concerning the discussion of the issue scientifically, it has been for quite a long time that the Parliament and the Government have been discussing with the Armenian community the project of opening an Armenian Genocide State Museum in Uruguay.
