YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 10, ARMENPRESS: Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received on Monday Mr. Mark Day, the General Manager of the Local, Municipal Government, Health & Education of Microsoft Corporation. The Department for Mass Media and Public Relations of the Government of the Republic of Armenia informed Armenpress that Mr. Abrahamyan stressed that Armenia’s government is actively cooperating with IT companies, and the sector is among the government’s priorities.
A number of successful projects are being implemented in cooperation with transnational companies, including Microsoft.
“We have joint achievements as a result of our cooperation. The Microsoft innovation center’s activities promoted new ideas and startups,” the premier said. Among the joint initiatives is the establishment of a Microsoft IT Academy at State Engineering University of Armenia (SEUA),” Mr. Abrahamyan said.
Considering successful cooperation with Microsoft, Armenia’s premier presented a number of proposals for expansion of bilateral cooperation.
Mr. Mark Day thanked Mr. Abrahamyan and shared his impression about the Armenian government’s cooperation with Microsoft.
Armenia has gained international reputation in information technologies, and many countries are interested in Armenia’s achievements, he said. Microsoft is interested in long-term cooperation with Armenia’s government. In this context, Mr. Mark Day pointed out Armenia’s potential for turning into a technological development center.
