Armenia interested in further increase of tourists’ flow from Russia

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 10, ARMENPRESS: Majority of the tourists visiting CIS countries are citizens of its member states. As Armenpress reports, representatives of tour agencies of four countries -Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan, informed TASS about this within the framework of their visit to Saint Petersburg to participate in the session of the CIS tourism council.

“More than half of tourism flows in Armenia are citizens of CIS countries, 90 % of who are Russians,” Chief Adviser to the Minister of Economy Ara Petrosyan said. According to him, as compared to 2013 when 1, 1 million tourists visited Armenia, in 2014 Armenia expects rise in tourists’ number in 200 thousand. Ara Petrosyan underscored that Armenia is interested in further increase of tourists’ flow from Russia.
