Armenia’s Prime Minister awards group of writers on 80th anniversary of Writers’ Union foundation

YEREVAN, JULY 4, ARMENPRESS. Today, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan participated in the solemn ceremony devoted to the 80th anniversary of the Writers’ Union of Armenia in the State Musical Comedy Theater named after Hakob Paronyan.

The Department of Mass Media and Public Relations of the Government of the Republic of Armenia informed Armenpress that in the congratulatory address directed to the members of the Writers’ Union of Armenia the Prime Minister noted in particular: “The anniversary of the Union is a significant event in the social and cultural life of Armenia. It has had an invaluable role in the spiritual development of our people, preservation of national traditions, creation of patriotic ideology. The passed creative way of the union was not easy, but the writer has remained intelligent, devotee of the homeland”.

Hovik Abrahamyan awarded AWU members, novelists Vahagn Mughnetsyan, Nelli Shahnazaryan, Satenik Mkrtchyan, Tadevos Tonoyan, Vahan Sevan and Rafayel Sahakyan with the medal of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia for the significant contribution to the Armenian literature and on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Writers’ Union of Armenia. The Government of the Republic of Armenia also devoted a service car to the Writers’ Union of Armenia.
