Armenia's President discussed concession agreement issues with "Russian Railways" President

YEREVAN, JUNE 18, ARMENPRESS. On June 18, the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan received the President of OJSC "Russian Railways" and the Chairman of the management board of CJSC "South Caucasus Railways" (SCR) Vladimir Yakunin. As “Armenpress” was informed from the Department of Public Relations and Mass Media of the President's Staff, the interlocutors, noting with satisfaction the high level of the Armenian-Russian relations, underlined that an important element of the bilateral strategic partnership is the cooperation in the transport sector.

President Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Yakunin discussed the current state of the railways, the development prospects, the issues concerning the fulfillment of the obligations taken by "Russian Railways" under the concession agreement.

The President of OJSC "Russian Railways" introduced to Serzh Sargsyan the implemented investments for the modernization of the Armenian railway, technical re-equipment, the current work, he also spoke about the activities of "South Caucasus Railway" in general, the problems and the development programs.
