Russia to provide 300 million U.S. dollars credit to Armenia for ANPP restoration

YEREVAN, MAY 30, ARMENPRESS. After the session of the leaders’ council of the Government of CIS participant countries the Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan responded to the questions of the media representatives.

The Department of Mass Media and Public Relations of the Government of the Republic of Armenia informed Armenpress that concluding the results of the working visit in a conversation with the journalists the Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan regarded it to be efficient and attached importance to the meetings of such format where the Prime Ministers of the countries can discuss a lot of issues. The Head of the Government of the Republic of Armenia introduced details on the meetings with the Prime Ministers of Belarus and Russia. “Alongside with the Prime Minister of Belarus we discussed issues to activate our cooperation in different sectors, including the establishment of manufacturing tractors in Armenia. Taking the opportunity I invited Mikhail Myasnikovich to Armenia. We agreed that he will visit our country in September-October,” Hovik Abrahamyan noted.

At the course of the meeting with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev the sides discussed not only the relations of the Republic of Armenia with the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Union, but a number of agreements were made as well. “The Russian Federation supports us to join the Eurasian Union very fast and we do not have any fundamental disagreements. We agreed to take credit of 300 million U.S. dollars for the restoration work activities of the power plant. We also made an agreement to cooperate actively in military matters,” the Prime Minister added.
