Charles Aznavour met Switzerland-Armenia Parliamentary Group Co-chairs

YEREVAN, MAY 14, ARMENPRESS. The Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Switzerland Charles Aznavour, in the Federal Palace on May 9 met the three Co-chairs of the Switzerland-Armenia Parliamentary Group – the National Counselors Weli Luenberger, Dominique de Buman and State Councillor Hans Altherr. The meeting was also attended by Sarkis Shahinian - the group's Secretary General. As “Armenpress”was informed from the Department of Press, Information and Public Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, at the beginning of the meeting, speaking about the activities of the new government and its programs aimed at the development of the Armenia-Switzerland relations, the Ambassador noted that the new government intends to further develop and deepen the relations between Switzerland and Armenia.

The participants of the meeting also touched upon Perincek’s case, and underlined the importance of the coordinated work between the Armenian and Swiss authorities in order to best prepare for the examination of the mentioned case at the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights.

Ambassador Aznavour also discussed with the Co-chairs of the Parliamentary Group the possible visit of the group to Armenia in 2015, for the100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, as well as introduced the preliminary ideas of all-Armenian projects dedicated to that anniversary.
